Bobbin Mount

Bobbin mounts represent one of the most versatile of all vibration isolators by virtue of their simplicity of construction and application.  A wide range of sizes coupled with alternative rubber hardness and bobbin shapes provides solutions to numerous standard applications.Bobbin Mount

These mounts, produced in a range of natural rubber grades are extensively used where maximum resilience and isolation is the key selection factor and oil or solvent resistance is not an issue.  Three standard Neoprene (polychloroprene) alternatives are available where oil resistance is required but isolation efficiency is compromised.

These mounts are used in compression, shear or a combination of compression and shear. The latter combination provides an optimum for stability and isolation efficiency. These mounts are not intended for use in tension.

Most of the bobbin mounts manufactured by AVMR are to the diablo (wasted) style providing additional flexibility due to the reduced diameter whilst providing a large bonded area for long service life. Cylindrical versions may be found under the Vibrostop heading METALFLEX

These mounts have Sherardised metal plates/studs to ensure maximum corrosion protection and studded versions are provided with zinc plated/passivated nuts and lock washers on both ends.

Bobbin mounts are stocked in the most commonly used materials.  Items not in stock may be subject to a minimum order quantity according to the number of mould cavities for a particular bobbin. Typically this ranges between 8 (for the largest bobbins) to up to 60 for some smaller items.

INSTALLATION
These mounts are most effective in a shear/compression mode and are not intended for tensile loading. All male threaded items are supplied with nuts and lock washers.

TYPICAL APPLICATIONS

Fans, motors, compressors, electrical equipment commensurate with loading requirements. Automotive applications include mountings for water or oil coolers. These mounts are used for both active and passive vibration suppression and shock protection.
